Fail To Attend (FTA) & Cancellations

In order to provide all patients with a prompt and attentive service we require that patients provide us with 24 hours notice of any cancellation and/or rescheduling.

NCS fail to attend patients who need to rebook will not be able to receive the next available appointment. Appointments will be rebooked according to the availability and demands within the unit at the time.

If patients habitually fail to attend the appointment (maximum 3 FTA) documentation will be forwarded back to the referring physician and no further appointments can be made available.

How can I book an appointment?
  • Appointments made require a referral form from a Medical Practitioner.
  • EEG and VER appointments can be booked over the telephone and the patient can bring the referral with them on the day of the appointment.

It is Important to note whether the EEG is a 'Routine' or a 'Sleep Deprived EEG' test. It is essential that the referrals are either faxed, posted or emailed prior to any Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) and Electromyography (EMG) appointment bookings. This process enables us to triage and streamline patients efficiently.

Our staff will usually contact the patients by telephone. If we are unable to contact the patient, a letter will be mailed out advising them to contact us.

Payment
  • All our tests are bulk-billed for Australian and permanent residents.
  • For non-citizen/non-Australian residents appointments will be charged according to the Medicare Benefits Scheme. It is paid on the appointment day by either cash, Eftpos or credit card.
